Hmm, looks like this story was correct. Nice job on the reporting.Posted on Mar 29, 16:19
Well.... there went this site's credibility.... Apple released Boot Camp 1.2 today which has full Vista compatibility.Posted on Mar 29, 12:53
:-) this is obviously not true since they just issued an update for Vista in BootCamp today!!! Way to put out those "rumors." I'm sure Apple loved proving you wrong on that one.Posted on Mar 29, 07:30
Wow, just five days after you guys publish this rumor, Apple releases an update for BootCamp which includes full supporto for Windows Vista. I guess this little article/rumor was usefull only to pull in more readers to the site.Posted on Mar 29, 07:19
Apple just released a Boot Camp update that makes it Vista-compatible. March 28. Stupid article.Posted on Mar 27, 13:59
Since when has Apple cared about Microsoft features? It's always been the other way round. This report sounds like baloney.Posted on Mar 27, 11:38
This seems like another article that has got Mac users bashing Vista. Why does everyone has to bash Microsoft at every possible opportunity. I will wait an watch to see which OS sells more, Vista or Leopard.
Posted on Mar 26, 23:21
Apparently the readership is far more savvy than the dorks who spew this kind of nonsense. It doesn't stop the Apple Bashers from making it headline worthy on digg. Who cares if it's true? If it makes Apple look bad, blog away, right?Posted on Mar 26, 22:42
I run Vista on boot camp now just fine. I also run it in Parallel - but I needed bootcamp to run flight sim.Posted on Mar 26, 22:37
Stupid, stupid, stupid. Nobody with half a brain is jumping on the Vista bandwagon this early. A patch in October (or later) to support Vista would be fine. Microsoft might have released enough hotfixes by then to make Vista worth installing.Posted on Mar 26, 20:43
Your sources are wrong.Posted on Mar 26, 20:03
It's a fake. Apple confirmed leopard's release at wwdc.Posted on Mar 26, 15:49
I think the OS is delayed although since they don't want to put a smear on Steve Job's halo they'll just blame a Microsoft product for the delay.Posted on Mar 26, 09:16
Shockingly, this report seems to have been confirmed as false by someone who's spoken to people at Apple. So, this article is just plain wrong.
Posted on Mar 26, 08:35
Sounds like BS to me. Why on earth would Apple delay shipping Leopard (which will drive Q2 profits) in order for Boot Camp to support Vista?Apple could easily release an update to Boot Camp in October without delaying Leopard. Propaganda and lies.
Posted on Mar 26, 04:53
GIVE ME A BREAK. Like Apple is going to take a big hit on multiple profit-centers (because other products will require 10.5) for three months, because Vista support is broken in Boot Camp. Ever hear of Parallel? YOUR SOURCE IS CLUELESS.Posted on Mar 25, 23:08
Its not that easy to "patch" bootcamp from osx, since a lot of it is vista drivers.Posted on Mar 25, 21:07
Nonsense. It doesn't take six months to recode bootcamp. That's just nuts and a horrible excuse, even for Apple. I'd put money down that the boys in Cuptertino could have bootcamp modified in 1-2 days, at most.Posted on Mar 25, 04:11
This is a garbage FUD article. Parallels desktop can already run Vista on a Mac. Lets be real - nobody much cares about Vista. New vista sales are forced ones for people buying brand new systems, not people upgrading, so XP support is sufficient.Posted on Mar 25, 01:44
There's no way, Apple was probably constantly making fun of vista for being delayed over and over again, now they're doing it to?????? NO I don't believe this to be true.Posted on Mar 25, 01:21
GEEZ!!! I have been postponing my purchase of a new Macbook Pro just for Leopard. But now I am not so sure. I want the newer stuff, but don't think I can wait much longer.Posted on Mar 24, 20:48
This is a joke, right? Seriously, I really don't care about Vista. Apple should forget it. I predict Microsoft will give up in under five years. No body who buys Leopard is going to care about Vista. Maybe a patch later should add Vista support.Posted on Mar 24, 17:39
I agree with the first post. Upgrading a brand new ThinkPad Z61p from XP to Vista was a MAJOR headache, and it won't even run on a top-end three year old ThinkPad! And, once it runs, it is really just a re-hashed version of XP. What's the point???Posted on Mar 24, 10:04
Yeah, right. They already would've been working on it (for XP, but will change the code so Vista works), and they would never delay something that late.Posted on Mar 24, 07:55
What a load of rubbish. Bootcamp already supports Vista as does Parallels. April was never the due date, but Spring, which extends to June 21. If Vista support was weak, it is far more likely that a software update would fix any problems.Posted on Mar 24, 07:54
I DON'T CARE ABOUT VISTA AND BOOT CAMP..... JUST RELEASE LEOPARD. I BOUGHT A MAC TO GET AWAY FROM WINDOWS.Posted on Mar 24, 06:06
I would think Apple could release an update with Vista support later on....Posted on Mar 24, 05:37
Vista doesn't even have Vista support. No need to delay, that's what patches are for once the kinks are ironed out.Posted on Mar 24, 04:20
Apple's Leopard isn't ready for April release because Leopard is still an early beta in quality. On the other hand, Apple has looked at how Parallels and VMWare products are progressing, and how popular they are, and want to make it 'even better.'Posted on Mar 24, 04:18
Did you buy an Apple to run Windows? If you did, that's one expensive PC, next to what you could have saved, on the cost. Leopard will be on time and then everyone will be HAPPY.Posted on Mar 24, 03:26
Ok, BootCamp (software) might be a slight minor detail they have to fine tune. But I think the real problem comes from hardware, specifically graphics. They need DirectX 10-board suppliers, and of course make "Leo" software compatible with DX10Posted on Mar 24, 03:15
Delay for six months to accommodate the tiny fraction of people who want a new Mac AND Vista? Not likely. If it is truly delayed the most likely reason would be that it simply isn't ready. You can't blame Microsoft for everything...Posted on Mar 24, 02:17
Vista has less market share than Windows 98. HP has had to back down to customer demands for Windows XP instead of Vista on new computers. The demand for Vista is negligable... unless Steve's applied the RDF to himself there's no way this is true.Posted on Mar 24, 01:03
I don't think so. How about 10.5.1? Do you really think Steve would allow the evil empire to dictate to him when his OS gets done. I think not.Greg
Posted on Mar 24, 00:35
Were the 'Industry Sources' people from Microsoft by any chance? Only they would be so dumb to think that Apple would wait for Vista compatibility. Who cares?Posted on Mar 24, 00:01
Ludicrous rumor. 1. Apple knows Vista will be slowly adopted. 2. Leopard is a Vista alternative, so shipping early is important. 3. Apple could support Vista in Leopard point release. 4. Parallels already provides Vista support to Intel Macs. DUH.Posted on Mar 23, 23:49
You have got to be kidding.Vista support is not hard to do (the hardware is already there, with EFI BIOS support). Wait - yeah, it's already been done.
Do some research - this is just ridiculous.
Posted on Mar 23, 23:42
Are you kidding me! Apple will postpone their OS release because they're worried about supporting Vista? This report is either ignorance or FUD, you choose. Any changes to Boot Camp to support Vista can be accomplished via a software update.Posted on Mar 23, 23:21
This sounds like a lot of nonsense to me. Apple can release a downloadable update for Boot Camp and OSX Leopard at a later date without holding up the Spring release. Too many firms have built products around Leopard for Apple to allow this.Posted on Mar 23, 23:05
This is absolute nonsense!Posted on Mar 23, 23:05
With Vista's rollout only slightly warmer than the Zoone, I doubt the credibility of this report.Posted on Mar 23, 22:57
Apple would never hold the release of their OS, solely to have more integration with a Microsoft product. NEVER!Posted on Mar 23, 22:56
THIS IS JUST WRONG. Steve Jobs is going to postpone making money so he can be compatible with Bill Gates? Vista is less compatible with 2003 Server than Mac OS X. Ex. Vista Home * can't join domains, OS X can. Its about switchers, not compatibility.Posted on Mar 23, 22:45
I can't imagine why on earth Apple would delay Leopard for this reason when the *majority* of upgraders will be coming from Tiger, not Windows. And by 6 months?! Boot Camp improvements could easily be introduced through Software Update. Crazy rumor.Posted on Mar 23, 22:26
That makes no sense. Why would't Apple release Leopard in May and then update it later with the Vista support? You dont keep your core audience waiting. Apple released Intel machines and 18 months later they are now getting native support for Adobe soft.Posted on Mar 23, 22:13
This is a crass attempt to damage Apple's stock price by spreading false rumors. Are you journalists or stock manipulators?Posted on Mar 23, 22:10
Apple has never delayed an OS release to attract Windows users. Ever.I find this report suspect at best, especially the unnamed "industry sources." This is simply baiting Apple for a reply.
Posted on Mar 23, 22:10
You'd better look out for more reliable sources...Posted on Mar 23, 22:02
No way Apple will delay Leopard to support Vista. That is just a ridiculous speculation. If it really wanted, it would just release a PATCH months later to support Vista. No way would they delay the ENTIRE OS for Vista support.Posted on Mar 23, 18:50
October! Thats over a year since it was announced at WWDC, We cant wait that long!
