Hydis fab closing was decided by E ink holdings. E ink also took away Hydis' technologies by obtaining patent royalties from other Taiwan firms without any kind of investment in facilities or new technologies.Posted on Jan 20, 16:19
E ink held an emergency board meeting on Jan. 6 and decided to halt factory operations at Hydis. The Taiwan firm notified relevant government agencies that it will close factories and discontinue production. 380 workers will be laid off
