Tata fab in India to begin construction in mid-March, says PSMC chairperson

PSMC chairperson Frank Huang told Taiwanese media that the company did not decide on the wafer fab project in India until President Tsai Ing-wen expressed her expectation that PSMC can act as the vanguard of Taiwan-based companies' investments in India, adding that the wafer fab in corporation with Tata will begin construction on March 12.

CG-Renesas ATMP project in India to commence construction in mid-2024

According to reports from Nikkei, Nikkan Kogyo, and Renesas's official website, Renesas ATMP facility, in partnership with India-based CG Power and Thailand-based Stars Microelectronics, is expected to commence construction in June 2024, with a planned daily production capacity of 15 million units. The facility will make chips for automotive, IoT, and 5G applications using mature packaging technologies like GFN and QFP and advanced packaging technology like FC-BGA and FC-CSP.
