Founder Motor is the largest supplier of automotive drive motors in China after BYD. It entered the automotive sector in 2006, but only started to invest in drive motors for new energy vehicles in 2012. In addition to EV drive motors, the company also provides powertrain control products, with an installed base of about 330,000 units in 2021, and supplies them to Chinese automakers such as SAIC, Geely, Chery, and XPeng. Founder Motor is developing 800V high-voltage drive motors with Chinese automakers and expanding its production capacity of flat wire motors. Its subsidiary, High Energy Auto Electric, provides ECU and other automotive electronics products.
