Foxconn launches move into fiber-optic communications components

Foxconn Electronics (the registered trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry) plans to spend US$3 billion over 3-5 stages to greatly enlarge its position in the fiber-optic communications component business. So far the company has injected over US$500 million.
