On May 28, the Taipei Computer Association (TCA) held an event to announce the winners of this year's Best Choice Award (BC Award) for Computex 2024. A total of 41 winners were announced for the Golden Award, Sustainable Tech Special Award, and Category Award. The winner of the highest honor: the Best Choice of the Year award will be announced during the opening of Computex 2024 on June 4.

The BC Award is the official official award of Computex and has served as a reliable procurement guide for buyers from around the world since it started over 20 years ago. VIPs representing the winning companies as well as international trade offices and media from Taiwan and abroad were invited to the event.

This year's awards focused on various categories such as AI, Big Data, & Cloud Computing, Computer & System, Gaming & Entertainment, and more. Visitors can visit the BC Award booth during Computex 2024 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1, 1F, booth I0307.

Growing AI trends reignite interest in innovative conventional solutions

Reflecting the current trends in the ICT industry, the 3 main topics of the Best Choice Award 2024 winners are Computer & System, Gaming & Entertainment, and AI, Big Data, & Cloud Computing. The growing trend of AI and demand for AI solutions encourages companies to integrate AI into their products and solutions; starting a regeneration of conventional ICT products and solutions.

This year, the Golden Award winners include products and solutions from various categories that aim to prepare users for the coming AI era or utilize the new capabilities made possible by AI. The Golden Award winners are:

Acer's Predator Helios 18 is a top-of-the-line gaming laptop that integrates AI to enhance ray tracing, with supersampling and frame generation.

Realtek Semiconductor's new generation AIoT home center SoC offers high-efficiency AI edge computing, low power consumption, and ultra-integrated single-chip solutions for next-generation Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies.

The Nvidia SmartVDO Air6N0 is a powerful AI computing platform that transforms data center operations using digital twins.

TEAM T5's ThreatSonar anti-ransomware brings together intelligence gathering, AI threat detection, and response capabilities to effectively hunt down and combat ransomware attacks.

MSI's Prestige 16 AI Evo Slim AI notebook continues the design legacy of MSI's Prestige series with its magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis making it lighter and thinner than similar products without having to reduce the number of ports.

Asus's ROG Matrix Platinum GeForce RTX™ 4090 24GB GDDR6X has a 360mm high-end AIO liquid cooling system with a metal frame and aluminum body to protect the semi-hollow coldplate chamber, PCB, and pump shroud.

Makalot's j-mex MOXI smart mo-cap suit is a unique washable smart garment that offers comfort for the wearer designed for all ages and is suitable for professional and amateur athletes alike, people recovering from injury, those undergoing or training for fitness tests, people using AR/VR, video makers, and animators.

Nvidia's AI Enterprise is an end-to-end, cloud-native software platform that accelerates data science pipelines and streamlines the development and deployment of production-grade co-pilots and other generative AI applications.

Supporting the Rising Demand for Sustainability

TCA stated that as companies and countries around the world aim to achieve net zero by 2050, sustainability has become one of the most important trends in the ICT industry. To support this endeavor, the BC Award has included the Sustainable Tech Special Award for the second time. The Sustainable Tech Special Award puts 3 main factors for the judging criteria: material usage, chemical inclusion, and climate change impact.

This year, the winners of the Sustainable Tech Special Award are:

The Framework Laptop 16 comes with up upgradeable, modular components that comply with industry standards to ensure compatibility with existing components and maximum customizability.

Asus's AirVision M1 uses microdisplays to effectively reduce the energy demand while also making the device small enough for easy storage and portability to suit the needs of modern living.

Planet Technology's AIoT application server brings together environmental monitoring sensors, servers, and display managers into one system that can reduce the need and cost of headcount while enhancing cybersecurity capabilities.

MSI's Cubi NUC (next unit of computing) is made with 92% renewable energy and rPET eco-friendly materials and packaged in FSC-certified paper.

Supermicro's DLC (direct liquid cooling) plug-and-play rack solution makes use of the higher coefficient of performance (COP) from liquid cooling systems to provide a convenient and sustainable source of cooling while reducing energy demands and carbon emissions.

C&T Solutions' ECO-1000 supercapacitor UPS modules are made with industrial-grade supercapacitors instead of batteries, greatly reducing the use and emission of harmful materials.
