The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will host four major technology fairs this October, featuring approximately 6,200 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions. These events will highlight innovative products, solutions, and services in electronics, components, production technologies, and smart lighting systems.
The 2024 Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) will take place alongside electronicAsia 2024 from October 13-16 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Following that, the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) will be held from October 27-30, also at HKCEC, with the Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo running from October 29 to November 1 at AsiaWorld-Expo.
The Autumn Electronics Fair and electronicAsia will jointly feature around 3,200 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions, showcasing a wide range of cutting-edge technologies.
At a pre-show press conference, Jenny Koo, assistant executive director of the HKTDC, emphasized that these fairs serve as critical platforms for exhibitors to promote their technologies and for buyers to discover innovative solutions. She also highlighted Hong Kong's role as a leading international hub for innovation and technology. In addition to in-person interactions, exhibitors and buyers can also leverage the "Click2Match" platform for seamless online business matching and discussions.
The 44th edition of the Autumn Electronics Fair will showcase a diverse array of consumer electronics, spanning smart home and commercial appliances, audiovisual equipment, and the latest technological innovations across more than 20 specialized zones. This year's focus will be on three key themes: digital entertainment, smart mobility, and the silver economy, aligning with global tech trends and societal needs.
In digital entertainment, the fair will cater to the booming gaming industry and the rise of wearable tech. The Computing & Gaming Zone will feature gaming headsets, keyboards, and controllers, while the new Digital Entertainment Experience Zone will offer visitors the chance to experience immersive VR and AR products.
In the smart mobility segment, a local start-up will showcase a groundbreaking electric vehicle (EV) retrofitting technology that converts fuel-powered cars into EVs. Additionally, the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute will present its C-V2X technology, designed to enhance the safety of autonomous driving. The Automotive & In-Vehicle Electronics Zone will feature various driving-related technologies, and this year's Energy Storage Zone will spotlight EV chargers and high-capacity energy storage devices.
In response to the Hong Kong government's 2023 Policy Address, the Autumn Electronics Fair has expanded its offerings for the silver economy. This section will feature fitness and health tech products designed for seniors, with special labeling to help buyers easily identify relevant products.
The Hall of Fame will showcase over 500 well-known brands, including Japan's electronics giant Toshiba, France's CG Mobile, which partners with fashion brands like Guess and Lacoste, and the US-based smart fitness and household brand Renpho. Other featured brands include China's smart automotive developer RoadRover Technology and Hong Kong's consumer electronics brand Momax.
Meanwhile, the Tech Hall will highlight cutting-edge products and solutions, and the Start-up Zone will feature young companies—many from Hong Kong Science Park and Cyberport—demonstrating smart solutions that address industry challenges.
At electronicAsia, co-organized by HKTDC and MMI Asia Pte Ltd, exhibitors will display a wide range of components, including keyboards, switches, power supplies, printed circuit boards, and electronic manufacturing services. The event will also feature advanced display technologies and testing equipment.
The Autumn Lighting Fair and the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo, themed "Light & Life," will bring together some 3,000 exhibitors from over 20 countries and regions. These events will showcase innovative products that blend lighting with everyday life.
