Taiwan-based Optoma announced a new low-priced 720p DLP (digital light processing) projector for the Taiwan market yesterday.
The Optoma HD70 is priced at less than NT$50,000, compared to more than NT$60,000 from current 720p models, the maker said.
HD70 adopts 720p Dark Chip2 DMD chip from Texas Instruments (TI) and supports high-definition (HD) resolution of 1,280x720. The model also features a new-generation 10bit video decoder, 7-segment color wheel and can project a 80-inch screen at a three-meter distance, the maker indicated.
