The LCD monitor market saw average retail pricing fluctuate in May, which is expected to carry over into June. In terms of products launched, Dell has released U, UZ, P, E series high-end, mid-range and entry-level LCD monitors in the Japan market as of June, and 24- and 27-inch U series models featuring DisplayPort/HDMI dual interfaces.
According to Digitimes Research, Dell's new product released signal that 24- and 27-inch units are likely to be the two major focal points for Dell's mid-range and high-end units with DisplayPort/HDMI dual interfaces.
Dell is also moving away from 19-inch monitors with DisplayPort interface technology and instead is focusing on DVI/D-Sub Only that is also found in 17- and 20-inch monitors, said Digitimes Research.
