September average retail pricing for 7W LED light bulbs (40W incandescent equivalents) in the China market increased 7.5% on month to CNY33.0 (US$5.2), while that for 9W models (60W incandescent equivalents) rose 5.8% to CNY36.2, according to Digitimes Research.
Average retail prices for 40W- and 60W-equivalent LED light bulbs in the Japan market in September stood at JPY1,672 (US$14.0) and JPY2,726 respectively, the former slipping 3% on month and the latter 0.9%, Digitimes Research indicated.
September average retail prices for 40W- and 60W-equivalent LED light bulbs in other markets were: KRW9,936 (US$8.9, down 0.9% on month) and KRW13,038 (up 0.6%) in South Korea; US$19.8 (up 6.5%) and US$20.1 (up 8.6%) in the US; EUR8.1 (US$9.0, up 3.8%) and EUR13.0 (up 4.8%) in Europe.
Philips 40W-equivalent LED light bulbs and 60W-equivalent models for sale in South Korea had the highest average lumen-price ratios of 99.8lm/US$ and 125.9lm/US$ respectively in September. In terms of luminous efficiency, Toshiba 40W-equivalent LED light bulbs and 60-equivalent models available in the Japan market had the highest average levels of 82.7lm/W and 105.1lm/W respectively.
