Taiwan plans to install 7,800 public EV chargers by 2025 in public parking, malls, gas station, and train stations as suppliers estimated that EVs will increase by more than 50,000 units in three years.
Delta Electronics said charging stations in office/commercial buildings could help increase EV penetration in Taiwan. Official statistics showed that new EV registrations have grown 50% on-year in the first half of 2021 and 70% of car buyers are willing to go for EVs in the next three years.
YES Energy, a subsidiary of Yulon, said demand for charging stations has grown tremendously this year and at least 10 hotels, including 5-star chain hotels and hotel-mall complexes, have adopted their 7kW AC charging parking solution.
At this year's UN COP26, six carmakers including Volvo, Ford, Jaguar/Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, General Motors, and BYD have signed an agreement to achieve zero-emission by 2040.
