Linkcom Manufacturing, a Taiwan-based supplier of magnetic components and power supply modules, is evaluating the feasibility of establishing a new plant in Vietnam.
According to company sources, the overseas investment project is being considered to respond to customers' demand for the company to set up additional production sites outside China and Taiwan. The company will reveal more details about the outgoing expansion plan in this year's second half.
In addition to its core magnetic components and power module offerings, Linkcom also markets wireless charging modules under the U-Way brand.
Company president Wilson Tan said the U-Way branded wireless charging modules comply with the Qi protocol established by the Wireless Charging Alliance (WPC) for relentless compatibility and interoperability.
In addition to being a WPC member company for 14 years and having over 600 Qi-verified products, Linkcom is a certified Apple MFi (Made for iDevice)/MFM (Made for MagSafe) manufacturer.
The company is optimistic about the proliferation of wireless charging applications, Tan said, adding that it plans to add a new series of charging modules this year, which may result in a 20% year-on-year sales growth for related products.
Tan also noted that the company's magnetic component products have ventured into the supply chain of a leading Japanese game console supplier since 2022, expecting revenues generated from the game console applications to increase 5–10% this year.
