Samsung Electronics America has intoduced a new camera model, the SL820, which is one of two new 12.2 megapixel additions to its SL series. The other is the SL630.
Both models feature 3-inch LCD screens, 5x optical zooms and optical and digital image stabilization which helps reduce blur caused by hand movements.
The SL820 is equipped with a 28mm wide-angle lens, while the SL620 offers a standard 35mm lens.
A first for Samsung's SL series, the SL820 offers consumers high-definition video recording at a resolution of 720p, as well as HDMI connectivity. The SL620 offers users MPEG-4 video recording at a resolution of 640x480.
The SL820 will be available in May 2009 at an MSRP of US$279.99, and the SL620 will be available in March 2009 at an MSRP of US$199.99.
