TSMC: China IC design industry only a few years behind Taiwan

China’s fabless IC design firms on average are only two to three years behind their Taiwan-based counterparts in terms of design rules, according to FC Tseng, deputy CEO of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
