UMC reportedly to start building 28nm chips for Qualcomm in 4Q12, says report

United Microelectronics (UMC) reportedly has secured orders for 28nm Snapdragon S4 chips from Qualcomm with volume production slated for the fourth quarter of 2012, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
