As a result, Taiwan makers are facing challenges from strong competitors in China and Korea in this era of smart devices and IoT. MediaTek was so pleased with the partnership with AZUL that it referred Philips to AZUL. The collaboration with Philips on TV user interface development, beginning in 2011 and continuing for many years, has brought AZUL further opportunities with leading TV makers, AOC and TPV.
