Semiconductor equipment vendor ASML has disclosed plans to recruit an additional 600 engineers in Taiwan this year.
ASML Taiwan said it is looking to beef up its local operations, and ASML's total workforce stationed in Taiwan will exceed 3,400 people by the end of 2021.
ASML in August 2020 unveiled its Global EUV Training Center in Tainan, southern Taiwan to serve its customers in Asia. Located in the Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP), the center has 14 trainers to provide thousands of hours of training courses per year. ASML expects to develop 360 EUV engineers for both internal and customer purposes every year.
