Keyboard and CCM (compact camera module) maker Chicony Electronics has posted record consolidated revenues of NT$95.082 billion (US$3.35 billion) for 2020 and aims at over NT$100 billion in 2021.
Gross profit of NT$17.776 billion and operating profit of NT$7.663 billion for 2020 were also annual records, while the corresponding gross margin of 18.70% hit 21-year high, Chicony said.
Global demand for notebooks, Chromebooks, gaming PCs and tablets has been strong in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and the strong demand will remain in 2021, said Chicony, which is the world's largest supplier of keyboards.
Besides, CCMs used in AI+IoT devices is expected to be the main source of business growth in 2021, Chicony noted.
Chicony will distribute a cash dividend per share of NT$5.50 for 2020.
The company has reported consolidated revenues of NT$6.832 billion for February 2021, decreasing 25.83% sequentially but increasing 59.62% on year, and those of NT$16.043 billion for January-February grew 52.67% on year.
Chicony Power Technology, Chicony's subsidiary which makes power supplies, has reported consolidated revenues of NT$2.824 billion for February, slipping 21.99% sequentially but hiking 86.78% on year, and those of NT$6.444 billion for January-February rose 62.98% on year.
Chicony Power will deal out a cash dividend per share of NT$4.00 for 2020.
