Panel prices for small-size TV applications will stop rising in June, but those of large-size TV, monitor and notebook applications will continue moving upward.
Quotes for 32- and 43-inch TV panels are likely to stay flat at US$88 and US$136, respectively, in June thanks to the higher price increases both segments previously and TV brands' shift of focus to promoting large-size models, data from Sigmaintell show.
While prices for large-size TV panels will continue rising in June, the pace of increases will slow down, said the marketing research firm.
Quotes for 50-inch models, which stand at US$200 in May, will edge up to US$203 in June; 55-inch ones will move to US$227 from US$223. Prices for 65- and 75-inch models will hike US$5 each to US$289 and US$391, respectively.
The upward movement for monitor panel prices will persist in June due to insufficient supplies of DDIC chips and slow capacity ramps at panel makers, Sigmaintell said.
Quotes for 21.5-inch models will increase US$4 each to US$67 and those for 23.8-inch ones will gain US$3.50 to US$69.70, and 27-inch panels will hike US$3 to US$89.4.
Prices for notebook panels will remain solid in June thanks to robust demand for IT products in the end market.
Quotes for 14-inch HD TN panels will move up US$2 to US$41.80 in June, and the comparable sizes of IPS FHD models will edge up US$1.50 to US$48.40, while those for 15.6-inch IPS FHD ones will also gain US$1.50 to US$50.50.
