Rohm will inject a total of JPY400 billion (US$3.64 billion) into its expansion through 2025, the Japan-based chip vendor disclosed in its mid-term management plan.

Rohm's expansion targets by 2025 include a bigger presence in the market for silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors. The chip vendor is eyeing a 30% share of the global SiC power IC market.

Rohm is also looking to further expand its system LSI business by stepping up its deployment in the automotive electronics field. As for its sensor modules, the company will put increased focus on demand for authentication and self-driving applications.

By further enhancing its core offerings, Rohm believes its conventional businesses will be turned to high value-added ones paving the way for substantial sales growth through 2030.

The plan, dubbed "Moving forward to 2025," is available on its website.
