Eris Technology is on track to develop new manufacturing processes, MPE (maverick product elimination) system, and implement its factory automation projects along with its robust sales, said Jonathan Chang, chairman of the diode maker.
It will start adopting 5-inch GPP (glass passivation pellet) manufacturing process, developed by its subsidiary Yea-Shin Technology, to produce diode wafers that will help it reduce production costs, while boosting profits, Chang said.
The company will also see its productivity and product mix improve significantly in 2021 thanks to the adoption of the MPE system, Chang added.
Its factory automation projects, which will require a capital input of US$304 million (US$10.94 million), will complete in the first half of 2022 and start generating revenues.
Chang noted the automation project is being implemented in response to increasing diode demand for automotive, industrial and high-end CE applications.
In addition to tapping into new niche market segments, demand for diodes from the notebook, TV and gaming console sectors remains brisk in the wake of the virus-induced stay-at-home economy.
The company saw its revenues grow 5.59% sequentially and 18% on year to NT$170 million in April. For the first four months of 2021, revenues totaled NT$619 million, increasing 17% from a year earlier.
