LCD chemical material supplier Daxin Materials will complete the construction of its new plant in Taichung, central Taiwan by the end of this year, laying the groundwork for significant business expansion in 2022.
The new plant will focus on developing semiconductor materials, such as photosensitive wafer protection materials for the front-end process, photosensitive dielectric materials for the backend process, and chip bonding materials, at the initial stage, Daxin said.
It will also develop intermediate materials, such as high-purified rinsing liquid, specialty removers and liquid glass for the front-end process, and customized backend packaging materials.
As a proportion of its revenues, sales of semiconductor materials will increase significantly in 2022 compared to 1-2% currently, it added.
The company has reported revenues of NT$358.73 million (US$12.91 million) for June, up 4.68% on year. For January-June, revenues totaled NT$2.166 billion, down 0.71% from a year earlier.
The company attributed the annual setback to a slowdown in new product development caused by the virus-induced impacts and decreased purchases from clients resulting from their efforts to improve production efficiency.
