Taiwan recorded exports of US$40.14 billion for October 2021, hitting a record for fourth consecutive month with growth of 1.2% sequentially and 24.6% year-on-year, while the corresponding imports totaled US$34.02 billion, second highest-ever monthly figure which rose 2.4% sequentially and 37.2% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
Electronic components had the largest export value of US$14.582 billion in October, decreasing 12.1% sequentially but increasing 12.4% year-on-year, with ICs taking up 89.7% of the value.
Exports of US$364.20 billion and imports of US$310.38 billion for January-October grew 37.2% and 33.3% respectively year-on-year.
