Liton Technology has been in negotiation with clients about upward adjustments to quotes for formed and etched aluminum foil used to make aluminum electrolytic capacitors on a quarterly basis in principle, according to the company.

LME (London Metal Exchange) aluminum prices per metric ton kept rising from below US$2,000 in early 2021 to US$3,100 in October, then dropped to over US$2,400 in November but rebounded to about US$3,000 currently, Liton said.

In response to drastic fluctuation in international aluminum prices, Liton hiked quotes each quarter by about 2-3% in 2021 and, for some clients and some product items, hiked quotes on a monthly basis, the company noted.

Liton activated four production lines for formed aluminum foil in the first half of 2021 and another four lines in the second half at its factory in Abazhou, western China, the company said, adding that it will further expand production capacity at the factory in 2022.

Liton has reported consolidated revenues of NT$385.1 million (US$13.8 million) for December, increasing 1.42% on month and 15.65% on year, consolidated revenues of NT$1.128 billion for the fourth quarter of 2021, growing 2.48% on quarter and 22.15% on year, and consolidated revenues of NT$4.198 billion for 2021, growing 28.57% on year.
