3D sensing module developer Altek has cooperated with Solomon Technology, a developer of application of 3D vision, deep learning and AI to industrial robots, to develop AI+3D vision sensing solutions by combining both sides' technological strengths, according to Altek.
Altek has transformed business operation from a digital camera ODM to a developer of smart image sensing solutions for electric vehicles, VR/AR/XR devices, logistics robots and medical endoscopes.
Through integrating 3D machine vision with AI-based machine learning, Solomon has helped more than 25 robot vendors make robots with human-like vision and recognition capabilities. Solomon has applied the integration of 3D machine vision with AI-based machine learning to AOI (automated optical inspection).
AI+3D vision sensing solutions are intended to be used in lenses of automotive cameras, robots, metaverse wearable devices and smart manufacturing, Altek indicated.
Altek has reported consolidated revenues of NT$1.381 billion (US$46.8 million) for June, increasing 17.90% sequentially and 70.04% on year; those of NT$3.152 billion for second-quarter 2022 slipped 11.77% sequentially but grew 36.92% on year; and those of NT$6.725 billion for January-June rose 57.01% on year.
