DRAM maker Nanya Technology has reported November revenue hit a 14-month high of NT$2.87 billion (US$91.3 million).
Nanya's revenue for November 2023 represented increases of 7.7% sequentially and 3.7% on year. Revenue for the first 11 months of this year totaled NT$26.73 billion, down 51% from the same period in 2022.
Nanya said it will continue to dynamically lower output by less than 20% in the fourth quarter. Nanya expects its bit shipments and ASPs to rise in the fourth quarter, and decrease operating losses.
Fueled by rising DRAM and NAND flash prices, memory module house Adata Technology saw its revenue soar 56.2% year-on-year to nearly NT$4.1 billion (US$130 million) in November 2023. Revenue totaled NT$30.55 billion for the first 11 months of this year, down 6.6% from the same period in 2022.
According to a recent Gartner report, global semiconductor revenue is projected to grow 16.8% in 2024 to total US$624 billion. "2024 is forecast to be a bounce-back year where revenue for all chip types will grow, driven by double-digit growth in the memory market," said the research firm. The memory market is expected to fall 38.8% in 2023 before rebounding to grow 66.3% in 2024.
