Global server shipments are expected to rise at a CAGR of 6% from 2023-2028, according to DIGITIMES Research's latest findings.
Abstract

Global server shipments will likely grow by a CAGR of 6% from 2023-2028, according to an estimate by DIGITIMES Research. Separately, global server shipments are expected to increase by 4.9% in 2024, driven by the renewal purchases of general-purpose servers by large-scale cloud operators in North America, with the shipment prospects to expand further by 6.8% in 2025 thanks to improved economic conditions, increased enterprise expenditure and the launch of new CPU platforms.

The shipment growth will slow in 2026 before staging a rebound of 7.8% in 2027, buoyed by the replacement demand for models purchased during the pandemic outbreak, resulting in a shipment amount higher than those shipped in 2022.

Regarding the performance of different industry players, shipments of white-label (datacenter) general-purpose and AI servers will increase steadily in the next five years and account for over 50% of total server shipments in 2026 as large-scale cloud operators will continue to expand their server investments.
