During the latest earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company is accelerating iPhone production in India, with most US-sold units in the June quarter made there, reducing reliance on China. While Vietnam handles other devices, Apple's China sales stabilized despite a slight revenue dip. Strong demand and first-time buyers continue to support Apple's broader product lineup in China.

Foxconn reportedly eyes India's new PLI scheme amid soaring local growth as Tata begins iPhone production at new plant

According to The Economic Times, Foxconn is planning to invest in India through its subsidiary Yuzhan Technology to tap into the newly launched production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for electronic components, which cites sources familiar with the matter. This move comes amid industry speculation that other major players, such as Dixon Technologies and Tata Electronics, are also preparing to apply for the scheme.

Dixon Technologies, Inventec form joint venture to manufacture PCs and servers in India
