Ubiqconn Technology, a Taiwan-based industrial computer manufacturer, said on July 21 that its consolidated revenue rose to NT$548 million in the first quarter of 2026, up 61% from the previous quarter, as project deliveries improved and shipments recovered. Gross margin climbed to 28%, an increase of 2 percentage points from a year earlier, supported by a higher share of value-added products, a better product mix, and gains in procurement, production and operating efficiency.
The company said it has been shifting from being a traditional IPC hardware supplier to a provider of mission-critical connectivity solutions, with a focus on rugged computers, satellite communications, unmanned systems, and systems integration. Management said its operating strategy is moving away from revenue scale alone and toward product mix, profit quality, and long-term competitiveness, while continuing to raise the share of higher-value applications.
Maritime applications remained the largest revenue source, although first-quarter sales fell from a year earlier because of customer pull-in timing, product transitions, and project delivery schedules. Satellite-related applications posted about 65% year-on-year revenue growth in the period as related projects were delivered on schedule. Revenue also continued to benefit from the consolidation of a U.S. subsidiary, which broadened the company’s application diversification and revenue sources.
In North America, the company said it has continued integrating the acquired U.S. subsidiary and is gradually building out a local manufacturing base to improve delivery flexibility, supply chain resilience, and in-market service. The subsidiary recently obtained AS9100D aerospace quality management certification covering customized flat-panel display integration, design and manufacturing, and optical bonding processes.
The company also said it has secured approval to move into the AI industrial zone at the Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City and is preparing site build-out and related planning. It plans to use the location as a research and validation base for AI, unmanned systems, and high-reliability mission-critical applications, with investment to be phased in according to its overall operating plan.
