LG Innotek reported stronger-than-expected results in the second quarter of 2026, helped by an improving market for camera modules and integrated circuit substrates. According to South Korean media including Financial News and Newsis, the electronics supplier also said first-half revenue exceeded KRW10 trillion for the first time.
The preliminary figures showed second-quarter revenue of about KRW5.53 trillion, or about US$4.005 billion, and operating profit of KRW245.8 billion. That was the company’s second-best result for the period on record, trailing only the KRW289.9 billion it posted in the second quarter of 2022.
Both results beat market expectations. FnGuide, a South Korean financial data provider, had projected second-quarter revenue of about KRW4.97 trillion and operating profit of KRW182.3 billion. With first-quarter results included, first-half revenue reached about KRW11.06 trillion, crossing the KRW10 trillion threshold for the first time.
LG Innotek said smartphone camera-module demand stayed strong despite the traditional slow season, extending momentum seen since the first quarter of 2026. It also said the supply of higher-value products such as RF-SiP, FC-CSP, and ABF substrates remained solid.
The company added that transportation-related components, including automotive camera, communication, and lighting modules supported revenue growth. Executives said LG Innotek is continuing to reinforce its optics and package solutions businesses while expanding into new areas centered on physical AI, including autonomous driving and robotics. The company also said it has begun expanding its semiconductor substrate plant in Vietnam and is considering additional investment to meet demand amid the semiconductor boom.
