InFocus recently introduced the newest addition to its Play Big projector line-up, the InFocus Play Big IN82, a 1080p front projector, targeting the home theater market.
The Play Big IN82 projector will be available in September 2007 for US$5,499 through exclusive InFocus resellers and installers, according to the company.
Using the latest DLP (digital light processing) DarkChip3 technology from Texas Instruments (TI), the InFocus Play Big IN82 boasts a native 4,000:1 contrast ratio that can be boosted to a maximum of 12,000:1
With a video optimized brightness of 1,500 maximum ANSI lumens – nearly twice as bright as most other home theater projectors are capable of – the IN82 is bright enough to deliver film-standard, D65K color accuracy in nearly any home theater, even with ambient light during a daytime movie or sporting event.
In addition, the new projector comes with integrated Pixelworks DNX 10-bit video processing technology and HDMI 1.3 with Deep Color support providing 1.07 billion colors.
The Play Big IN82 is easy connected to nearly any consumer electronic device including: HD media players, HD cable and satellite receivers, and broadcast receivers, DVD players, computers and video game consoles, according to the company.
