UMC to expand production capacity in Taiwan and China

Taiwan's United Microelectronics (UMC) is set to expand its production capacity at its wafer fabs in Taiwan and China, and will enhance R&D for specialty process technologies, said company CEO Po Wen Yen during a June 9 shareholders meeting.
