UMC expects wafer shipments to drop 1% in 1Q17

United Microelectronics (UMC) expects to post an about 1% sequential decrease in wafer shipments for the first quarter of 2017, when the company's capacity utilization rate will fall to about 90% from 94% in the prior quarter.
