Taiwan based digital TV modulator chip design house - VATek plans to introduce its DVB-T2 ENMODER chip at 2017 Broadcast Asia May 23-25 in Singapore. Along with VATek's new turnkey broadcasting solution that helps manufactures to expedite the development of digital TV broadcasting device. The new Android API for VATek USB modulator will also make the very first debut at the exhibition.
VATek will bring the world's first NON-FPGA DVB-T2 modulator to Singapore during the exhibit of BCA 2017. DVB-T2 is the latest digital TV broadcast standard as an extension of existing DVB-T standard, to allow a better use of the spectral resources by integrating cutting edge signal processing technologies. Like DVB-T, DVB T2 uses OFDM modulation and provides with more numbers of carriers and modulation constellations up to 256-QAM. The most important feature, known as rotated constellations, has been introduced to provide additional robustness in transmission. All the features above require huge amount of signal processing and mathematical calculations when modulating DVB-T2 signal. Therefore, high-end FPGA is required when making DVB-T2 transmitter. After nearly 2 years of development, in March 2017, VATek has successfully verified its very first NON-FPGA DVB-T2 modulator chip. VATek will have a live demo of DVB-T2 modulator at the booth.
With an increasing number of market growth in digital TV headend products. TV broadcast equipment manufacturers must respond fast. To minimize design period of modulator product. VATek introduce a new turnkey solution for mini digital TV modulator. Supports all major digital TV standards, like DVB-T, DVB-C, ATSC, Clear QAM, ISDB-T and DTMB for China. In addition to the turnkey platform, VATek's exhibit at Broadcast Asia will include a new concept smart broadcaster with ANDROID JAVA API, as well as advanced advertising system. This new platform connects VATek USB modulator to SoCs and easily transfer any ANDROID device into a smart broadcaster or advertising device. The idea is to make the platform to handle different media source feeds, or generate sophisticated graphics with powerful graphics engine that modern SoC already has, then broadcast all those contents via VATek USB modulator. We believe this can be the game changer to the media delivery industry.
