Touch module and touch-display integrated module maker General Interface Solution (GIS) recorded a net profit of NT$4.363 billion (US$157 million) for 2021, the highest annual level since 2018 and exceeding paid-in capital of NT$3.379 billion for the fifth consecutive year.
GIS has decided to distribute a cash dividend per share of NT$5.00 for 2021 operations, accounting for 38.55% of the corresponding net EPS.
Touch solutions used in tablets accounted for 60% of 2021 consolidated revenues, LCD modules used in notebooks for 30%, and smartphone-use touch solutions for 10%.
As US-based clients have increased adoption of mini LED backlighting for notebooks, GIS is expanding monthly production capacity for notebook-use LCD modules to two million modules in the first half of 2022. GIS expects the revenue proportion for notebook-use LCD modules to rise to 40% in 2022.
