Eight enterprises in Taiwan have formed Taiwan Climate Partnership (TCP) in a bid to help local ICT supply chain makers save energy in manufacturing processes in line with the international carbon reduction trend.

The eight members are TSMC, Delta Electronics, AU Optronics (AUO), Asustek, Acer, Lite-On Technology, Pegatron and Microsoft Taiwan. Besides, about 100 ICT supply makers, including Compal Electronics, Qisda, Wistron and Quanta Computer, have expressed support for carbon reductions.

In response to climate changes, international brands and vendors have brought increasing pressure on Taiwan-based ICT makers, making them feel the urgency of reducing carbon emissions, according to Yancey Hai, chariman for both TCP and Delta Electronics.
