IC testing house Sigurd Microelectronics expects to sustain high capacity utilization in the second half of 2022, buoyed by strong demand for Wi-Fi SoCs, despite weakening demand for handset chips solutions.
While continuing inventory adjustments to cope with weakening chips demand for handset, notebook and other consumer applications, Sigurd said, its clients have scaled up production and shipments of Wi-Fi SoC and other networking chips, allowing its testing lines to stay busy.
Sigurd has reported its second-quarter 2022 revenues grew 11.6% sequentially and 22.6% on year to NT$5.154 billion (US$179.94 million), and net earnings surged 44.1% on year reaching NT$987 million. The company attributed the revenue and profit gains to fulfilling increased orders and scoring gains from its re-invested firms.
Its revenues for the first half of the year expanded 26.8% from a year earlier to NT$9.774 billion, and net profits for the period advanced 45.5% on year reaching NT$1.808 billion.
