Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with Intel, recently launched a new generation of desktop PCs called the "All-in-One Pro" in South Korea. By using AI, it aims to compete with Apple's iMac and expand its AI end-user ecosystem.

According to reports from Money Today and Maeil Business, Samsung recently introduced the "Samsung All-in-One (AIO) Pro," its first AI AIO PC following AI notebooks. It features the Intel AI processor "Core Ultra" and the Microsoft Copilot key, equipped with various AI functions such as article summarization and image generation.

The connectivity with the Galaxy product lineup is also a highlight of the All-in-One Pro. Through simple commands issued through Copilot, users can perform functions such as message sending on their Galaxy smartphones connected to the computer. The high-quality camera of Galaxy smartphones can also be used as a webcam for the PC.

Other features include document sharing between Galaxy devices through "quick share," using a tablet as a secondary screen, and using a PC keyboard and mouse on smartphones and tablets through "multi control."

Lee Min-Chul, managing director of Samsung Electronics Mobile Experience (MX) division, stated that it is working closely with Intel to provide the best experience to satisfy customer demand through All-in-One Pro. It will introduce a differentiated Galaxy ecosystem and AI functions.

Recently, the PC market has experienced a resurgence due to AI technology. Intel launched the Core Ultra, which is equipped with AI capabilities, in December 2023, officially entering the AI PC market. The Core Ultra has an NPU and a high-performance GPU, capable of processing AI computations without internet connectivity. Intel aims to supply processors for over 100 million AI PCs by 2025.

Market research firm IDC predicts that AI PCs will account for 20% of global PC shipments in 2024, reaching 50 million units, and will increase to 60% of total shipments by 2027, reaching 167 million units.

Major PC manufacturers such as Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Acer are all launching new models in 2024 featuring Intel Core Ultra. Samsung launched the "Galaxy Book 4" notebook in South Korea in January 2024 and sold 100,000 units in just 9 weeks. The official launch of the AI AIO PC this time is expected to further drive the expansion of the AI PC market.
