iKala and TPIsoftware have announced a collaboration aimed at bringing AI transformation consulting and implementation services to Vietnam while deepening partnerships with local system integrators.

At the same time, Deloitte has pointed out that the global supply chain is being reshuffled, making Vietnam a new hotspot for the semiconductor industry, with local manufacturing actively transforming. Focusing on cloud and AI technologies, iKala and TPIsoftware are expanding their cooperation to target digital transformation opportunities in Vietnam.

Founded in 2005, TPIsoftware has around 600 employees and serves various industries including finance, insurance, telecommunications, manufacturing, healthcare, and retail. While its scale is larger than iKala's, iKala holds certain advantages in emerging technologies like AI. In March, iKala received funding from Chunghwa Telecom to establish a strategic partnership. Back then, it mentioned that its goals included expanding into markets such as Japan and Southeast Asia.

When asked about their client distribution in Vietnam, TPIsoftware stated that they primarily serve local Vietnamese clients, not limited to Taiwanese businesses. However, many of their previous clients in Taiwan have been expanding into Southeast Asia, with Vietnam being a key destination. Therefore, the team will follow these Taiwanese clients to assist them in their digital transformation and provide localized services.

TPIsoftware observes that Vietnam's large population combined with government encouragement for digital transformation in recent years presents significant business opportunities. The technologies required for digital transformation do not vary by country; rather, it is the regulatory requirements that differ, necessitating adjustments to the software and solutions implemented.

TPIsoftware has been operating in Vietnam for nearly five years and is currently engaged in projects with major local retailers and large domestic financial companies. They hope to leverage their expertise alongside iKala's to expand their business footprint in New Southbound countries, positioning Taiwanese commercial information software services as the next pillar of growth.

On another note, Deloitte held the "2024 Taiwan-Vietnam Investment Exchange" seminar on October 14, highlighting that under the trend of global supply chain reshuffling, Vietnam possesses geographical advantages and abundant labor resources, becoming the second-largest labor market in ASEAN (only behind Indonesia).

Deloitte noted that in 2024, the Vietnamese government released a semiconductor development strategy blueprint, aiming to become a new secure base in the global semiconductor supply chain by 2050. Local manufacturing has gradually transformed in recent years, with dual-axis transformations focusing on digitalization and sustainability becoming the primary direction, shifting from traditional labor-intensive models to technology-intensive industries.
