Weak demand in the monitor, notebook and tablet markets dampened Taiwan panel makers' shipments to the IT applications segments in the first quarter of 2015. Taiwan's monitor panel shipments now face particularly strong competition from Korea- and China-based makers who have stepped up production for monitor applications.
