Digitimes Research: Taiwan makers see LCD monitor shipments drop 9% in 3Q15

Taiwan makers' shipments of LCD monitors during the third quarter of 2015 dropped 9.3% on year to 20.11 million, which also represented a 1.7% quarterly decline, according to Digitimes Research.

Products sized 20-inch and above accounted for approximately 70% of the shipments, which helped push up the ASP during the quarter compared with the second quarter of 2015 along with the total export value of the shipments to US$2.3 billion

During the third quarter Qisda saw some of the biggest declines in shipments to around 300,000 while Foxconn maintained its number three position globally due to orders from Dell and Hewlett-Packard.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, Taiwan makers' shipments are expected to rebound 7.9% to 21.7 million, which represents a 2.4% decline on year.

For 2015, global LCD monitor shipments will decline 8.4% on year to 125 million. Taiwan makers' shipments will reach 81.06 million, which will account for a 64.6% global share, up from 62.9% in 2014, said Digitimes Research.
