Computex 2026 is set to officially open in Taipei, and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) Chairman James C.F. Huang has stated that the combined market capitalization of foreign companies participating in forums and keynote sessions at this year's event exceeds US$10 trillion. He also said that TAITRA has allocated the entire Taipei International Convention Center (TICC) exclusively to Nvidia for GTC Taipei 2026.

Under the theme "AI Together," Computex 2026 will be held from June 2 to June 5 across Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 and 2, the Taipei World Trade Center, and TICC. This year's exhibition will focus on three major themes: AI computing, robotics and smart mobility, and next-generation communications.

Computex 2026 will use four major venues operated by TAITRA and feature keynote speeches from four senior global technology executives, including Cristiano R. Amon of Qualcomm, Matt Murphy of Marvell Technology, Lip-Bu Tan of Intel, and Rafael Sotomayor of NXP Semiconductors. Jensen Huang is also scheduled to appear alongside Matt Murphy during the exhibition. Furthermore, the Computex Forum will host more than 30 senior technology executives at the vice president level or above, many of whom are key technology decision-makers.

About 70% of Taiwan's exports are connected to companies participating in Computex. Huang is confident that the industry will continue growing, considering Nvidia's planned US$2 billion investment in Marvell Technology and OpenAI's reported US$1.2 trillion investment plans as evidence that AI demand remains in a high-growth phase.

This year's Computex will also feature the exhibition's first dedicated AI robotics zone, focusing on the rise of Physical AI technologies. Areas highlighted will include robotics applications, smart city security systems, embodied AI computing and system architecture, sustainable e-paper display technologies for the AI era, and next-generation 3D smart security and smart city systems integrating ground and aerial technologies with digital twins.

Computex was founded in 1981, jointly organized by TAITRA and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA). The exhibition's name was originally coined by Stan Shih, founder of Acer, by combining the words "Computer" and "Expo" as part of the event's branding strategy. Over the past 45 years, Computex has evolved alongside Taiwan's rapid advancements in PCs, electronic components, semiconductors, and AI servers. Compared with Semicon Taiwan, which focuses primarily on semiconductor equipment, Computex is significantly larger in scale and attracts more exhibitors, drawing over 40,000 international buyers to Taiwan each year.
