UMC says soon to apply for acquisition of China-based Hejian

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) has said the application to acquire a major stake in China-based Hejian Technology will soon be submitted to Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). The Taiwan-based foundry did not elaborate further.
