ImageCare enables a new way of operating projectors that is far more intuitive and familiar, while at the same time maximizing performance for maximum attention of the audience and enhancing energy saving up to 50%.
Market trends show that the education market is the fastest growing segment in front projection. The education market requires maximum performance in readability and visibility on the screen, to capture the children's attention. On the other hand, there are also many moments where there is no immediate need for the screen, it just needs to be ready for use. Together with FutureSource Consulting, Philips has set-up an end-user study to learn how projectors are really used in the education market. Based on these insights, Philips has further built on the ImageCare technology, resulting in a solution that offers:
- Best brightness performance: capture attention with maximum brightness for presentations
- Best picture performance: capture attention with optimal contrast for movie and image content
- Automatic energy saving: by using only as much light as is needed for best picture performance and going to Screen&Energysaver mode when the screen is not used
- New ways of using the projector: allowing end-users to focus the attention of their audience towards or away from the screen by actively using the screen brightness
For integrated system optimization of ImageCare in projectors, Philips has jointly developed a reference design for ImageCare implementation in collaboration with one of the leading panel makers, Seiko Epson Corporation.
