Global shipments of tablets in the third quarter of 2014 rebounded to quarterly growth thanks to inventory preparation for the traditional high season. Shipments reached 63.4 million units, up only 1% from the same period last year according to estimates from Digitimes Research. The tablet market matured earlier than expected with the iPad and white-box tablets both failing to show significant shipment growth. Total third quarter iPad shipments were merely 15 million units, up 6.4% on quarter.Table 1: Key factors affecting tablet shipments in 3Q14 (Supply)
