Demand for 8K LCD TVs to take off after 2019, says IHS

While there will be fewer than 1,000 8K LCD TVs sold globally in 2016, the global sales will increase to more than 300,000 units in 2018 and about one million units in 2019, signifying a takeoff for 8K TVs, according to IHS.
