Taiwan-based manufacturers are expected to show various levels of strength in different areas but have an established presence in EV components and subsystems.
Abstract
Taiwan EV supply chain

Taiwan's electric vehicle (EV) supply chain is branching out into a number of subsectors, including a general EV supply chain, an ADAS/automotive electronics supply chain, a Tesla supply chain and the MIH Open EV Alliance (MIH).

Not only have Taiwan-based manufacturers penetrated into the supply chain of tier-1 automakers, but some of them have also become key component suppliers to Tesla. Furthermore, the establishment of MIH will enable additional possibilities for Taiwan's ICT suppliers. As the EV supply chain trends toward horizontal development, Taiwan-based manufacturers will have more opportunities to expand into the EV supply chain.

Taiwan-based manufacturers in the general EV supply chain show different levels of strength in various areas. They deliver strong performance in areas including cathode materials, motors and power systems, and charging services but underperform in batteries.
