iPhone 17 shipments and key supplier breakdown

Luke Lin
Luke Lin, Senior Analyst
Suffering from slow AI application development, Apple relies on the entry-level model to boost its iPhone 17 series shipments.
Abstract

DIGITIMES' study found that Apple launched the iPhone 17 series smartphones in September 2025 with notable hardware upgrades compared to its predecessor, adopting a "more features without price increase" strategy for the standard iPhone 17 model.

The new product line, iPhone Air, emphasized an ultra-thin body but featured weaker camera specifications and a relatively high entry price, significantly limiting its target customer base. Amid challenges in developing Apple Intelligence, the iPhone 17 is expected to attract budget-conscious or value-driven consumers looking to upgrade their devices.

DIGITIMES estimated that total shipments of the entire iPhone 17 series will reach approximately 82 million to 87 million units in the second half of 2025.
