DIGITIMES' survey of the global top-5 notebook brands (excluding Apple) and the top-3 notebook ODMs' shipments in October 2025 (excluding detachable models) found that many brands had aggressively stocked up in September amid high uncertainties created by US tariffs, raising the baseline for October shipments.
Additionally, processor and memory shortages caused supply difficulties for certain models, while the global education sector entered its traditionally slowest quarter. As a result, total shipments of the top-5 brands in October 2025 declined 25% month-over-month but showed about 5% growth year-over-year.
Among the top-5 notebook brands in October, Dell delivered the strongest shipment performance, with volumes rising over 25% month-over-month. It was the only one among the five brands to grow shipments compared to September.
