LED automotive lighting module maker Laster Tech has disclosed it is expanding production capacity for automotive headlight controllers at its factory in northern Taiwan, with the additional capacity to come into operation at the earliest in third-quarter 2022.
Such controllers are produced for US-based clients, while LED automotive lighting modules are produced at its factories in China because almost all of its clients are China-based automotive lamp makers, Laster said.
China-based clients reportedly include Huayu Vision Technology (Shanghai), Varroc TYC Auto Lamps, Guangzhou Koito Automotive Lamp, Beijing Sanli Auto Lamp, Chang Chun Hella Automotive Lighting, Magneti Marelli Automotive Lighting System and ZKW.
Laster posted consolidated revenues of NT$5.66 billion (US$203 million) and net profit of NT$79.9 million for 2021.
Of the 2021 revenues, modules for taillights, daytime running lights and headlights accounted for 49%, 28% and 25% respectively.
Laster has reported consolidated revenues of NT$361.1 million for February, dropping 35.72% sequentially and 28.22% on year, and those of NT$923.0 million for January-February slipped 20.38% on year.
